SVSF Pottschach beendet ASKÖ 2019 auf Platz 3

Beim ASKÖ-Turnier 2019 in der Mehrzweckhalle Ternitz (vom ASK Ternitz organisiert) landete der SVSF Pottschach auf dem starken dritten Rang. In Anbetracht von einer eher durchschnittlichen fußballerischen Leistung und nur eines Sieges im ganzen Turnier ein mehr als ordentliches Resultat. Andererseits: Niederlagen setzte es auch nur gegen die Top 2 des Turniers, die den anderen Mannschaften überlegen waren.
Im Auftaktspiel konnten die Pottschacher ein Lied davon singen. Gloggnitz besiegte unsere Jungs ganz klar und ohne Probleme mit 4:0. Im Spiel zwei wartete Lokalrivale Ternitz. Zweimal lag die Mannsi-Truppe dabei in Führung und wäre am Ende beinahe wieder als Verlierer vom Platz gegangen. Ein Tor von Gerhard Egger in letzter Minute sicherte Pottschach ein 3:3-Unentschieden. Ohne dieses Tor wäre das Endresultat wohl anders ausgefallen, so aber war der SVSF plötzlich wieder mitten drin. Im entscheidenden letzten Vorrundenspiel geriet Pottschach gegen Grünbach mit 0:1 in Rückstand, biss sich dann aber zurück ins Spiel und gewann am Ende mit 3:1. Lohn dafür war Platz zwei und ein Ticket für das Halbfinale. Dort geriet man gegen das fußballerisch wohl beste Team des Tages, den SC Hirschwang, komplett unter die Räder. Nur mit Mühe konnte eine zweistellige Niederlage verhindert werden. Pottschachs Jungs in dieser Phase des Turniers körperlich bereits mit Verschleißerscheinungen, die harten Einheiten unter der Woche waren ganz schön in die Beine gegangen. Zudem verletzte sich Philipp Egger an der Schulter, hoffentlich ist es nicht so schlimm. Auch Muri Behluli konnte nicht bis zum Ende mitwirken, dafür biss Michi Kleinander trotz Loch in der Lippe zusammen. Die Mannsi-Boys mussten auch im kleinen Finale gegen Puchberg zweimal einem Rückstand hinterherlaufen. Ein super Volleytreffer von Michi Kleinander kurz vor Schluss zum 2:2 bedeutete, dass der dritte Platz im Siebenmeterschießen ausgespielt wurde. Peter Fahrner, Dominik Slukan und Michi Kleinander verwandelten, David Puhr hielt den letzten Penalty der Puchberger und sicherte mit dieser Abwehr seiner Truppe die Bronzemedaille…
